Though I have known Mrs Kelly when Bill was a young man going to college, and knew of her struggle, trying to raise 2 boys, I have never met a finer person than the Mother and Step-Father of William Jefferson Clinton, Virginia Clinton Kelly and Dick Kelly.
My Nancy and my life was made richer after having these two fine people spend almost two weeks with us in Hawaii, just before Virginia passed away from cancer. Nancy and I loved these two people like our own brother and sister, they were loving, honest, honorable people.
When I see President Bush treat his parents with such great respect I know what is in his heart. Its not just a Republican or a Democrat that has respect and honor, its just in some peoples hearts.
John McCain is a warrior and he has this in his heart. Let me tell you a true but sad story I was told by a carpenter friend in Phoenix.
Recently John McCain was invited to visit and speak at the Carpenters union new training and office buildings in Phoenix AZ. He told the Carpenters Business Manager that this was the first time that a labor union had ever invited him into their facilities. Isn't it a shame, because someone is a republican, even though he is a great war hero, and a respected United States Senator, that our International Unions, FLCIO and Building and Construction national trade offices try to teach local union officers and members, not to associate or vote for a person because they are a republican which reflects a total lack of respect for such a great Senator and war hero such as John McCain.
